Executive Team
Ralph S. "Steve" WhiteChairman and CEOMore than 20 years ago, Steve White moved from Virginia to Maine, to start a business. He focused initially on a very narrow niche - taking reservations for Maine innkeepers. New England 800 Company (renamed Taction in 2001), quickly grew into a respected industry example of excellence. With a dozen or so major clients located throughout the country, Steve began to build his management team with an eye towards individuals he recognized had tremendous talent. First and foremost, he wanted to find individuals who shared his belief that each and every customer call provided an opportunity to create a satisfying experience, one transaction after another. Today, Steve is described by his colleagues and clients as an individual with an exceptional understanding of how technology can best be used to produce sophisticated customer service solutions. As the company's Chief Technology Officer, he continues to set the company's visionary plans. He also plays a vital role in consulting with clients on the design and operation of their own internal customer service operations. Steve holds a Bachelor of Science of Business Administration degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and a Master of Education of the Deaf degree from Smith College in Northampton, MA. Prior to launching this business, Steve was Vice President for Marketing with Arens Applied Electromagnetics, in Gaithersburg, MD; Director of Development for Northern Virginia Public Television in Annandale, VA; Audio-Visual Media Director for Clarke School for the Deaf and Director of the ESEA Title III project "Speech Through Vision" for the Northampton Public Schools, both in Northampton, MA.
